Trent Valley DA invites all types of camping units to our Temporary Holiday Site situated in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, and only 0.5m from Carsington Water, a popular tourist attraction.

The Rally site is a basic, well kept field mostly level, but slightly sloping in parts, with fresh water and Elsan disposal facilities. Own sanitation is essential.Our marquee will also be at the site with a live artist planned for the Bank Holiday weekend.There are no electric hook up’s.A short walk from the site will bring you to the “Knockerdown” public house which serves good meals.
Locally Carsington Water or Carsington Reservoir in Derbyshire was opened in May 1992 by Her Majesty the Queen and is a very popular visitor attraction, owned and operated by Severn Trent Water. The recreation facilities available on site include: Purpose built Visitor Centre with accessible toilets, Watersports, cycle hire, sailing club and fishing, Adventure playground, Water Rail outdoor clothing outlet, gift shops, book & craft shops, restaurant, outdoor café and kiosks, Picnic areas, Dogs allowed - if kept under control, Wheelchair friendly and mobility scooter hire, Free admission, however a car parking charge applies. Carsington Water is home to local and migrating bird species all year round, which can be observed from the site’s bird-watching hides and wildlife centre. The site has numerous cycle paths and trails, an adventure playground for the young and a full calendar of outdoor activities at the water sports centre. Bicycle hire is also available. The centre is open from 10.00am every day.

For days out it is only a short drive to the Peak National Park, Derbyshire Dales, Chatsworth House, Matlock Bath, Peak Steam Railway, Ashbourne, Tissington Trail, Haddon Hall, etc.

From Cromford [A6] to Wirksworth on B5036 follow brown tourist signs for Carsington Water. On B5035 towards Ashbourne continue until Knockerdown PH, and then take 1st Right onto Brackendale Lane. Site on Left 200 yrds.
